Paris: Sights, Stay & Stroll.

This past summer I concluded my time in Europe by visiting Paris, France for a few days. This city is as magical and elegant as people say. I visited all the major sites very easily by using Google Maps “Offline” option. By using this you can input all the locations you want to visit and not have to use your data while you walk around! I visited the Louvre, The Eiffel Tower, The Arc de Triumph, Notre Dame Cathedral, The Catacombs (this was insane), The Love Lock Bridge, Luxembourg Gardens etc (all the touristy things) . I basically saw all the major sights in just 3 days and still had time to relax, hang-out at the hostel, and walk around the neighbourhoods in search of the next best meal.

If you are backpacking with friends or alone I highly recommend staying at St.Christopher’s Inn. I stayed at the one on the canal, there is also one near Gare Du Nord. I recommend  the one on the canal because it has a beautiful view and is a 2 minute walk from a very central subway station. There is a lot going on around the neighbourhood and many restaurants. The hostel is super reasonable, there is a club, a bar, a beautiful patio right on the canal, events, clean facilities, and a restaurant. I met a lot of wonderful people while staying here and it really made the trip an amazing experience. There is so much going on in the summer on the weekends along the canal, beer and food venues open up and tonnes of people hangout, eat, drink and swim there.

Places I need to revisit would be the Louvre, there is just so much to see there that you would need at least 3 days to view everything, so if you are only in Paris for a short time make sure to prioritize which galleries you want to see before arriving! Also, although the Eiffel Tower is a go-to for all tourists, if I could go back, I wouldn’t spend money on going to the top, it was crowded and very rushed. I really enjoyed drinking wine and munching of snacks at the base, that is something you must do!

I loved Paris, and would 100% go back in the future. I highly recommend visiting this beautiful city and taking your time to stroll through the dainty neighbourhoods and narrow streets and chic boutiques.
